You may not even realise it but MISTY'S BIG ADVENTURE could well have already touched part of you in some small, not-so-subtle way. The flamboyant multi-textured plaything of one Grandmaster Gareth the Birmingham octet have scaled the creative heights with two albums ('The Solar Hi-Fi System' and 'The Black Hole'), a litany of tours with Magic Numbers, Zutons, Guillemots and Pipettes and a veritable riot of upbeat radio sessions. Oh yeah, and they're the bunch of mayhem-seekers with the dancer covered in Marigold gloves.

So they've got form have Misty's. Indeed, consider that most of Label Fandango's single releases thus far have been by young scamps a'plenty (cf Air Traffic, Brinkman, Ra Ra Riot, Assembly Now, Fanfarlo) with barely a scoreful of live shows beneath their slim belts and Misty's stand as virtual stalwarts in this indienoise nursery. Rest assured however that the spirit of MISTY'S BIG ADVENTURE is imbued with a youthful playfulness which would terrify an Interpol fan at a thousand paces, for this is pop with a heart, rock with a cabaret edge, music like what they used to make in the olden days revitalised and indeed quite possibly Tizerized for a giddy new generation.

Their last single was called 'Fashion Parade': it featured Noddy Holder and lambasted copycat bands and it won polls and everything. 'I Can't Bring The Time Back' doesn't feature Noddy Holder. It does however rummage around a packetful of mournfulness which is buffed up by a tinkly, sheeny production which almost belies the sombre intentions, but not quite. Regrets? They have a few. But then again not that many, as 'I Can't Bring The Time Back' precedes the release of their third album, 'Funny Times', due for release on their own Grumpy Fun records. People - be they punters or pop stars - really quite like MISTY'S BIG ADVENTURE.
