October 17th sees the fourth ‘Shear Me Now!’ show, a series of monthly co-promotions between fierce panda records and The Most Radicalist Black Sheep Music, aka TMR Black Sheep, the in-house arm of ad agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, aka BBH. "Music is right at the heart of the culture at BBH," they say. "For us 'Shear Me Now!' is a way to extend what we do every day - we want to put ourselves out there to get even more involved with finding and working with new musicians and bands...” Fittingly, the first three 'Shear Me Now!' events in the summer brought forth sets by the likes of Cave Painting, The Crookes, Hall Of Mirrors, Bebe Black and Famy, while October's bare-treed songs will sound something like this:

CHANNEL CAIRO (onstage 10.00pm) are from the wilds of NorthWest London and create “blissfully expansive, dreamy melodic pop” (The Independent), fronted up by singing pianist Josh Bowyer. Past singles ‘A Year’ and the terrific debut ‘Elephant Room’ have defined the quintet as really quite epic, but craftily subtle with it. Expect some subtle and crafty new material tonight…

ALL WE ARE (onstage 9.15pm) are from Liverpool via Norway, Ireland and Brazil. In April they released their ‘We Hunt’ EP (Payper Tiger Records) which left media onlookers smitten with their three part vocal harmonies, kettle-whistling guitars and softly haunting tones. Sigur Ros and The XX have been bandied about (gently) as reference points, and there is a shyness to the trio’s wise musings which is wildly endearing.

LILLIAN TODD-JONES (onstage 8.30pm) is a self-professed fire dancer from Dartmoor who brings a suitably windswept, widescreen vibe to her music. The video for her ‘Butter Soul’ track is fraught and thoughtful, adding a feminine touch to some cool Radiohead-style musical rattlings. Lillian comes to us via a highly-anticipated mid-October City Showcase, erm, showcase at the Borderline.
