* DESPERATE JOURNALIST HEADLINE THE DOME IN OCTOBER! *
* YOUNG ROMANCE + FIGHTMILK BRING THE SUPPORT! *
Bashfully ferocious alt.rock perfectionists Desperate Journalist continue the broody promo trail for their ravishingly well-received ‘Grow Up’ album with a headline show at Tufnell Park Dome on October 19th and by giving away an ace track called 'All Over' absolutely free. Opening up on the night will be feisty indie shouters Fightmilk, and bolshy boy/girl duo Young Romance fill the middle on slot, as per the information below.
The giveaway track 'All Over' meanwhile showcases the usual Desperate Journalist blend of melody and malevolence, with the added bonus of some serious shdredding from guitarist Rob. You can get that track sent to you for free after you sign up to the band's mailing list at https://desperatejournalist.co.uk right now.

DESPERATE JOURNALIST: the crunchy North London-based quartet released their second album ‘Grow Up’ in March to a fanfare of admirably excellent reviews and played a brilliant springtime Scala headline show on April 6th. After the singular successes of ‘Hollow’, ‘Resolution’ and ‘Be Kind’ on the blogosphere, 6music and Radio X last up was the digital single release for ‘Why Are You So Boring?’, a “protest song about tossers” wherein singer Jo Bevan machineguns her lyrical way through Rob Hardy’s howling guitar barbs and Simon Drowner and Caz Hellbent’s vitriolic bass’n’drum combination for precisely two minutes and 33 seconds. You can see the excellent swear-a-long video for the ‘Why Are You So Boring?’ single at youtube.com/watch?v=5NMN_Ouxvgo
YOUNG ROMANCE: just off tour with The Wedding Present and about to go into the studio to record their second album, Young Romance are a noisy two piece comprising of Claire on vocals / drums and Paolo on guitar.
'Live, the pair are a blizzard of hair, sweat, and pummelling riffs, a powerfully percussive discord that rips out of the speakers.' - Clash
FIGHTMILK: bowling in from the fringes of London Town Fightmilk are a punchy, potty-mouthed fourpiece who have been merrily chewing the tail of the indie DIY dog with their current ‘Pity Party’ EP which sounds like a giantly massive explosion in an Art Brut factory.
