* POST-PUNK DARLINGS HEADLINE HACKNEY OSLO ON APRIL 20TH! *
* SUPPORT COMES FROM GIRLS IN SYNTHESIS + THE CARESS! *
Never ones to shirk their springtime responsibilities, glowering post-punk experts DESPERATE JOURNALIST headline London Hackney Oslo on Friday April 20th to tie in with the release of their brand new ‘You Get Used To It’ EP.
Their recent ‘It Gets Better’ single is Smiths-esque salty shakiness to the max, all savage 12 string Rickenbackering and lovely gothic bass haranguing all wrapped up in 2 manic minutes and 49 frazzled seconds. You can see the gently joyous video, filmed on a freezing Hampstead Heath, right here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHmIIw2Pfrs

DESPERATE JOURNALIST (onstage 9.00pm): two tumultuous albums down the line (‘Desperate Journalist’ and ‘Grow Up’) this kinetic quartet have proved themselves to be indiegoth dramatists of the highest order, earning plaudits a’plenty for a palpitating, passionate underground sound.
GIRLS IN SYNTHESIS (onstage 8.00pm) have been cutely described as creating "a scuzzy, messed-up, lo-fi, post-punk, no wave racket," by Aural Aggravation
THE CARESS (onstage 7.15pm): sauntering in from South London this brotherly triumverate endeavour to blend the giant melodies of '60s pop with the gentle malevolence of '80s indie, as evidenced by new single 'Suffragette Look'.
