DOWN WITH UMBRELLAS! UP WITH TRUNKS!
CLUB FANDANGO & 7DIGITAL PRESENT
LABELLED WITH LOVE

"Summer in the city and the air is still..." so sang Roddy Frame back in the last century. And he should know - as main man in the lovingly pop-tastic Aztec Camera Mr Frame's early career fell under the auspices of Postcard and Rough Trade Records, two of the finest exponents of leftfield perambulations in the history of independent labels, way back when a youthful alternative sector was busy injecting the music industry with a dose of inventiveness, wit, enthusiasm and musical expertise.

Nigh on three decades later we stand on the very cusp of summer in the city of London and Club Fandango and 7digital.com have joined forces to present a series of shows in the West End with some of the acest, raciest indie labels around.

The plot is bionically simple: throughout the sunshine period Club Fandango and 7digital.com will put on monthly Labelled With Love nights at the Borderline in conjunction with the witty, inventive and enthusiastic likes of Memphis Industries, Stolen Recordings and Moshi Moshi. And those nights look like this:

WEDNESDAY JUNE 17th 2009: THE BORDERLINE MEMPHIS INDUSTRIES NIGHT
The Week That Was + Dan Michaelson & The Coastguards + Theoretical Girl
+ The Go! Team DJ set + Memphis DJs

Tickets £7.50

WEDNESDAY JULY 15TH 2009: THE BORDERLINE
STOLEN RECORDINGS NIGHT
Pete & The Pirates + guests
Tickets £8.50

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 12TH 2009: THE BORDERLINE
MOSHI MOSHI NIGHT
Line-up TBC

For the Labelled With Love nights each host label will bring along its own signings and special guests and fizzing underground character. 7digital.com, the esteemed one-stop download shop for all your groovy mp3 needs, will bring the extra promotional push for the labels involved.

And Club Fandango will bring the biscuits and eight years' worth of experience when it comes to helping enthusiastic, inventive and witty people put on gigs, not least because the Fandango founders themselves flounder around in the independent sector as masters of Pointy Recordings and fierce panda records.

Some sort of bizarre love triangle? Perhaps. But look on the bright side - at least we didn’t end up calling this event 'Summer Indie City'...
