Blank Maps
Blank Maps were formed in 2010 following a degree course performance and a decision to become 'a real band'. Though Blank Maps were conceived and hatched in Newcastle, its members hail from all corners of the UK; Newcastle, Sunderland, York and Oxford. After two years of gigging, writing and polishing their chillingly textured soundscapes, what has emerged with 'Blank Maps' has been likened to acts such as The XX, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, and Foals. Armed with lofty effect-laden guitars, sophisticated technical riffs and Thom Piddock's spine-tingling falsetto, Blank Maps have already enjoyed airplay on 6Music, and being play listed on Amazing Radio, as well as being featured on Tom Robinson’s podcast.
