Geeq are the brain child of Nikolas Kolya, a London session guitarist and producer, at one time an architect and at all times the creative hub of the band. In the beginning the band were influenced by the likes of Al Di Meola, Led Zeppelin, Living Colour and Faith No More, maybe even Tin machine and The Band Of Gypsies – who knows who and what else – but in time they have come to represent their own mix of elements of bands and musicians like these, lovingly delivered in a unique, intricately arranged fashion. This in turn gives geeq a familiar yet paradoxically different take on songs that you think you might have heard, but at that very moment will turn the corner and give another angle you weren’t expecting.
