A Pawful Of Showcase Performances The esteemed personages from Stratford-based college THE BRITISH ACADEMY OF NEW MUSIC (aka BANM) are venturing across London Town to the Bull & Gate for a wee Christmas hoedown. The night will feature a headline slot from special guest act THE FANCLUB, appearances from previous students and, crucially, a pawful of showcase performances from the current batch of melody-wielding hopefuls. The night starts super duper early to squeeeeeze in as many of those hopefuls as possible - doors are a rush hour-rocking 7.15pm. For those in the know, THE FANCLUB play an exuberant brand of quintessentially British alternative pop which has been described as “indie with soul” and garnered comparisons with Elbow, Manic Street Preachers and the perhaps less-than-quintessentially British Jeff Buckley. The Fanclub’s ‘A Real Horror (Part II)’ single is out now and their debut album is ready to fly in 2012.
