Band Of Holy Joy
Band Of Holy Joy have spent the past couple of years running a radio show on Resonance FM and writing and performing theatrical song plays at spaces such as Shunt. In 2010 they released an album, 'Paramour', on their own label Radio Joy and this January sees them returning to the stage properly at the Fierce Panda night on Jan 7th. Johny Brown’s colourful and harshly poetic words present vivid imagery to complement the musical finery. With its folk macabre meets William Burroughs/Lou Reed-like sagas of lust, desire and obsession it’s a singular but mighty album that should redirect attention to The Band of Holy Joy’s fitful but illustrious canon.
