Murray James
Murray James is just 18 years old. He played his first live "band" gig at the Thomas Tripp in Lymington, Hampshire, to a sellout crowd, all of 100 people! He then found himself on tour with Darren Hayes and found himself playing in front of 4,000 at the Royal Albert Hall. From the day he left school he was able to establish links with musicians and established songwriters. A meeting with Warner Chappell Music gave rise to writing sessions with Charlie Dore and Dave James. What followed were further sessions with Steve Bush (Stereephonics producer) and Tim Kellett (Corinne Bailey Rae, James Morrison). A support slot at the Eve Club in London with Amy MacDonald lead to more contacts and demos being produced by Adam Falkner, Amy‚Äö?Ñ?¥s drummer, and Jez Larner. From this a band feel developed and after just two rehearsals with Ben Lyonsmyth on bass, ex-Rooster, and Sam Embery on drums, ex Five O'clock Heroes, with Harun Kotch on electric guitar, his first live gig was booked. Having only performed solo to this date James took to the band format effortlessly.
