Tokyo Beatbox are a group of friends who have known each other since secondary school. Their name reflects both their desire for glamour and escapism, as well as their romantic sense of cultural nostalgia. With their adrenaline-fuelled raucous live show and intelligent lyrics they have already amassed a dedicated following of fans in Leicestershire, who pack-out local venues each time they play. Tired of contrived controversy and cheap gimmicks, Tokyo Beatbox are angry, but they're also articulate. Their music varies from the new wave guitars, swaggering, reggae verses into shambolic, Libertines meets The Specials choruses. Each of their songs is short, sharp, catchy and fresh.
