** EASY KILL CELEBRATE AT BIRTHDAYS ON FEBRUARY 10TH! **
** DOOM-POP SCIENTISTS LAUNCH ‘GUILT TRIP TO THE MOON’ SINGLE! **

Manchester’s cautious practitioners of half-ironic ‘doom pop’, Easy Kill, play a special show at Birthdays on February 10th. The tense quintet headlined The Lexington and Moth Club late last year in hot promotional pursuit of their debut ‘Melanscholar’ album, out via http://www.fiercepanda.co.uk/artists.php?artist=359 right now. Excellent Birthdays support comes from The Caress, as per this whiff whaff here…

EASY KILL (onstage 9.00pm) Fans of the spectral and the gently spectacular will take Easy Kill to their arty hearts as their lovingly-layered sound floats somewhere between the esoteric achings of Talk Talk and the modern dramatics of Foals and Alt-J. Somewhat fittingly then, the narrative arc of their current sublimely maudlin ‘Melanscholar’ album concerns itself with a character left in limbo betwixt here and the afterlife, very much the ghost lost in the machine. Tonight is a launch party for their unnerving new single ‘Guilt Trip To The Moon’.

THE CARESS (onstage 8.00PM) are three brothers based in New Cross, South East London, called Tom, Ben and Sam. They lovingly blend the ‘60s spectre of Spector with the sullen alt cool of ‘80s indie, as evinced by their cracking current ‘You Say I Kiss Like A Girl’ fierce panda EP.
