South London's general emoters Longfellow are launching their new 'Remedy' EP (fierce panda) with a headline show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on May 5th. Support comes from the pop-tastic Sykes and nu-soul man Albert Gold, as you can tell from these words here:

LONGFELLOW (onstage 10.00pm) have been one of the underground radio success stories of the past year, clambering onto the playlists of Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music with 'Medic', which features on their new 'Remedy' EP alongside the excellent radio-smash-in-waiting 'Where I Belong', which you can see at: YouTube right now. Pretty darned impressive for an ostensibly unsigned band, but think heart-on-sleeve alt.pop with big choruses and hugglesome sad bits and frequent epic outbursts and all this radio traction will make sense. As they prepare to work on their debut album this will be Longfellow's last London headline show...
...until the autumn.

SYKES (onstage 9.15pm) make music dazzled with a glittering ambience, where upbeat guitars meet electronic alt.pop. The sugary melodies coupled with Julia's gentle vocals make the music of Sykes reminiscent of Lady Hawke and Saint Etienne, as you can tell from current single 'Best Thing' at YouTube

After springtime shows for Tipping Point and with Stay Bless he is currently on the promo trail of the terrific 'Into The Wild' single, a pop-tastic grooveathon which saw Albert Gold hit the coastal delights of Felixstowe in Suffolk to make this video here: YouTube
