Fjords
Fjords are Cardiff’s finest purveyors of indie-electronica release the much anticipated new track ‘Polymath’ on 1st March 2014 via Crookedman Records. A recent brush with fate saw FJORDS singer Sonny Dagur accosted by an advertising executive with the immortal lines, ‘Do you fancy being in an advert?’ One thing led to another and FJORDS were filmed for the new Scottish Widows global television and online advertising campaign. Recorded at the world famous Monnow Valley studios FJORDS' third release builds on the sonic ambition of previous singles showcasing an icy sonic template coupled with angular guitar riffs that recall the finesse of Foals, Talking Heads & Arcade Fire. Formed in Cardiff in 2011, FJORDS can quote Real Madrid & Wales footballer Gareth Bale (campaigning twitter follower) and Manic Street Preachers (who gifted the band studio time) as fans. FJORDS were voted amongst the ‘top five emerging icons’ by the Huffington Post. FJORDS are Sonny Dagur - vocals/guitar, Alex Mann - bass/vocals, Scott Bradburn - guitar, Gareth Bodman - synths, Hannah Mathias - drums & drum pads. Airplay support includes Scottish Widows TV and Online Campaign, ITV1, BBC 6 Music’s Fresh On The Net, Amazing Radio, BBC Radio Wales, GTFM, CSIM Montreal & Nation Radio.
