Scams - "Tight and gritty indie punk complete with strong vocals (reminiscent in its delivery, and in no bad way, of The Mars Volta and old school From First to Last) and tempo twists. Drawing from the Strokes end of loud energy, there're hints of The Walkmen and Bedouin Soundclash in there smashed together with precision and occasionally surprising harmonies. Definitely fits the adage of 'all killers no fillers' but the songs are also catchy to boot. There's even a slightly tokenistic Dubstep loop in 'Helicopter Parents' but such variety crossed with their exceptional musicality (time shifts, accelerandos, crescendos - all in there), Scams are a force to be reckoned with.
