Flesh
Flesh features the ice-machine vocals of Sharon Martin, whose previous release was a version of Vic Godard’s Make Me Sad on Hamburg label Aufgeladen und Beriet. This release was part of Sharon's university thesis, which was based on the cataclysmic effect Vic Godard & the Subway Sect had on the nascent Scottish independent music scene when they played Edinburgh in 1977 as part of the White Riot tour. Seeing the Subway Sect inspired the formation of Orange Juice, Josef K, Fire Engines, who in turn went on to be pivotal elements of Postcard Records (Glasgow) and Fast Product (Edinburgh).
