Martha Rose
Martha Rose plays guitar, violin, and sings, Ben Joel plays banjo and lap steel, Jessica Cottee sings harmonies and plays percussion. They have performed together as a band in London, Brighton, Oxford, Manchester, Liverpool and most recently Berlin. Martha Rose was given a guitar in January 2007, wrapped up in newspaper. She writes songs about the people she loves and likes. About the things she sees, and the things she dreams. She likes the pace of the river. The twilight. And the sad, deep wells inside us all. The music is full of stirring melodies. It is a dark mixture of folk and country, with old-fashioned delicacy and beauty.
