Crushed Beaks
Crushed Beaks are two South-east Londoners, Poile and Morris, who bonded over their shared love of horror, everything from classic Argento to the obscure ends of Italian slashers. Once they met creatively over a rough set of demos that Poile had written in his shed, Crushed Beaks became a roughshod, DIY force that embodied their heroes’ cinematic ethics. Named as one of The Line of Best Fit’s Singles of 2011 and championed by everyone from The Independent to tastemaker blogs like Abeano, Crushed Beaks’ name quickly became the one to watch on the London circuit. Recently Crushed Beaks followed up Grim’s success with a double-headed garage-pop behemoth in the form
of ‘Breakdown / Horror Shorts’ on new London imprint ASL Records.
