Evelinn Trouble
Evelinn Trouble first began to perform her songs in public as a shy but determined 17-year-old. At the time, the first shoots were clearly visible of a burgeoning scene of young, female and innovative Swiss song writers including Sophie Hunger (with whom Trouble toured as a backing singer). Video footage posted on the internet from her solo performances with just a guitar to accompany her – note that it was an electric, not an acoustic guitar! – soon attracted an impressive number of clicks. Support slots for acts like Beirut, Young Gods and Joan As Policewoman followed. Trouble abandoned her softer, singer-songwriterly side altogether when she met bassist Flo G??tte with whom she recorded the style-defining 'Television Religion'. Since the release of the album, a drummer, Toby Schramm, has joined the band, making their sound more powerful and flexible still.
