Apes are in a band and they are changing the face of London’s live music scene. Blending together the anthemic echoes of early brit-rock with jaunty blues riffs and surreal lyrics, they offer something special at every gig they play. Frontman Theo Wishart and guitarist Tomo Taka’s song-writing partnership has taken them into the depths of the delinquent soul of today’s youth. Their darkly comic lyrics and jagged melodies sweep over drummer Elia Cordaro and Basist Rob Watson’s tight and original rhythm section.
