The Kanyu Tree
The Kanyu Tree are three brothers from the west of Ireland who are in pursuit of the perfect pop song. They are influenced by Fleetwood Mac, Prince, M83, Hall and Oates, Metronomy, Steely Dan and Phoenix. And The Beach Boys. In 2011, they released an album, ‘People Street’, which went into the Irish charts at #4. Two singles, ‘Radio’ and ‘Shelf Life’. The band played every major Irish festival in 2011, including Oxegen and Electric Picnic and finished the year with a sold-out show at Whelan’s in Dublin.
