Silence Rises
Silence Rises formed in 2010, setting out to write a set of huge, anthemic indie tunes and this is a five-piece not short on ambition. A rich vein of song-writing talent runs through them. They focus on hook filled and venue filling tunes that tower and swoop. They make the roof of any venue they’re in seem higher. Silence Rises combine the Northern darkness of Doves and the euphoric scope and scale of Elbow with the melodic sensibilities of early Snow Patrol. They sound simultaneously cynical and awe-filled and they are starting to get noticed. Recent highlights include the band being invited by indie legends The Wedding Present to support them on two of their 2011 UK tour dates.
