Marcel is a collection of misfits and ne’er-do-wells from various corners of England. Established by two Isle of Wight escapees in Camden around the time the new millennium was wiping the sleep out of its eyes and thinking of its first cup of coffee and cigarette, they wrote some songs. Still writing, they are now augmented by individuals that followed the principal that all roads, by necessity, lead to London and the five members hail from as far afield as Wales, Wigan and most impressively Peckham. As a live band, they are hard to forget. Musically they are as diverse a proposition as pressing shuffle on your i-pod. The new single ‘Equador’ will be released later in the year and this show will be its first public outing.
