Alvin Purple
Alvin Purple formed in Leeds, meeting in a bizarre series of coincidences they embarked on making their brand of dark, textured, skewed pop. In 2010 they released a debut double a-side, played on BBC 6Music, charted on Hype Machine and played BBC introducing live sessions. Reviewers have drawn comparisons with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Gossip, Portishead and PJ Harvey. They spent the winter, bolted away in a studio on the North Yorkshire coast, recording a debut EP with James Kenosha (Pulled Apart by Horses, Grammatics, Dinosaur Pile-Up). 'The Walls EP' is due for release in June.
