The Good Natured began, unbeknownst to her at the time, when Sarah McIntosh rescued a keyboard her grandmother was throwing out. With ‚Äòthe best organ sound ever‚Äô this salvaged instrument found itself a loving new owner and was soon to become the essential ingredient in a synth-pop art project to document ‚Äòthe make outs, break ups and make ups.‚Äô The world of the Good Natured is one of many paradoxes. Despite an undeniably playful charm, it‚Äôs clear from a couple of listens that beneath this willfully na?Øve exterior lies an acute pop sensibility and a maturity way beyond her 18 years. Like Lily Allen fronting The Postal Service, her heart-on-sleeve approach to songwriting is a breath of fresh air.
