I Am Blackbird
I Am Blackbird are on the slog from ‘well respected’ to ‘darlings’ of the local Manchester music scene. Last autumn they made the listings locally as one of ten great reasons to believe in Manchester music. At the beginning of May they became ‘BBC introducing’ band of the week on radio Manchester. Their new recordings, mixed by the great Dave Bascombe, should end this part of the journey and move them to the next level capturing as it does their sound, Radiohead hitting the Black Keys while explaining the very particular nature of a broken heart.
