Young Rebel Set hail from small North East town of Stockton-on-tees. The hugely exciting seven piece band have set tongues wagging with some incendiary live shows around the Middlesbrough area. Young Rebel Set’s songs are full-blooded tales of tough love and hard luck woven through their blend of folk and punk. The band’s rebel rousing sound reflects their mutual love for song writing greats such as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Springsteen and Tom Petty combined with the gang-like spirit of The Pogues and Dexy's Midnight Runners. Fronted by the brilliantly named Matty Chipchase, the boys that make up Young Rebel Set were all friends at school and include two sets of brothers - further cementing the gang spirit. Matty’s vocals are both gritty and heart-felt, with his North East lilt giving the songs a real sense of authenticity and soul.
