Blagqueen
Blagqueen hail from the four corners of the Earth (Peterborough, Birmingham, London and Barnsley). The members of BlagQueen now reside in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Having bonded through alcohol and a love of music, BlagQueen formed during the cold winter of 2005 to play a one-off gig at FemFest in Sheffield as 'Tonic'. Realising the lameness of the name, the members then had a rethink and reformed as 'Lounge Eleven'. Knowing they were useless at band names and realising that maybe they should be sober when picking a band name, the band nevertheless got drunk and reformed once more as BlagQueen, a name which encapsulates the band and what they stand for to a tee. Like Sting and many other greats, the four members are educationalists in the performing arts sphere during their day light hours (music teachers), one of the many thousands of reasons why BlagQueen are so utterly, utterly talented and professional. Ahem.
