Talk Taxis entered the indie fray just over 2 years ago with a shared enthusiasm for music and badgering inept tutors. Foundations began in a Balham pub and, not fazed by the glamour and the glitz of forming a band, the music delivers substance and a style that draws on a myriad of influences. Singer Will White blows into his harmonica and taps his stylaphone in Rolf Harris inspired moments; drummer Daniel Ajegbo, intent never to fall on a standard rock beat, bangs his drums in a variety of styles, from funk to punk and back to dance; bassist Nathan Knight injects his very own flair for blues jam into the atmosphere and guitarist Tom Carmichael throws spiky guitar riffs on top. Writing tunes and playing live sits at the centre of their universe. Unswayed by the preciousness of their own sound, they've grown into playing a daring set that will lull you into a false sense of security, before shunting you back into action.
