Lou Cowell
Lou Cowell (no relation to Mr Nasty) was signed to Chrysalis publishing last year on the back of the string of raw emotive performances she crammed in at the Betsey Trotwood. A classic songwriter in the Joni Mitchel cast, Lou's songs contrast beautiful aching melodies with a dark lyrical twist. Her song "Good Day" has already brought her fame in France, courtesy of a huge cover by a very strange Frenchman (aren't they all?) called Emmanuel Moire - bien sur! In the UK she has recently been recording with producer Phil Brown (Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchel, Little feat, Bob Marley - old school, the way we like it!).
