The New 1920
The New 1920 have been playing live since May 2006 and is made up of former members of underground outfits Douglas, The Take and ThisGirl. After just a handful of shows with local bands such as Kids in Glass Houses, The Blackout and Dartz! they started to create a buzz and attract attention from local press, radio and record companies. In October 2006 they recorded their first single 'Torpedo Libido' which was released through local label TPF/Thousand Yard Stereo records. In December 2006 they were personally invited to open up for Lostprophets on four of their U.K. dates. The shows proved to be a great success which led to another invitation to open up all dates on the European leg of the tour. Within these 12 shows, they shifted all 1,000 copies of 'Torpedo Libido'. In January 2007 they were asked to record a live session for Radio 1 which was played along with a short interview on Bethan Elfyn and Huw Stephens' show 'The Nations' as well as receiving airplay on New York's Channel 103.1 rock radio station where they were featured as new band of the day and have since continued to get weekly airplay.
