The Indelicates
The Indelicates debuted in Brighton at the end of 2005 and have rapidly been growing in notoriety, but not in the look-at-us-we-trash-stuff way, but with their cleverly crafted, ambitious, pop songs. 'Waiting For Pete Doherty To Die' was NME's 'most controversial pick of the year' in their 2005 yearbook. The song was also referred to in The Fly as The Indelicates were mentioned as a pick for 2006 - selected by Eddie Argos from Art Brut. In March 2006, the NME reviewed the band in its Radar section calling their songs 'stunning' and pointing out that they 'share their sharp wit and social commentary with 90s brainiacs Black Box Recorder, but soften it with a spoonful of Belle & Sebastian's twee-yet-epic ensemble indie'. This year saw them release their debut album 'American Demo' as well as play SXSW and support the newly reformed Vaselines in New York.
