The Heebie Jeebies
collectively indulge in “fruity Beefheart beats, calypso rhythms and west coast noise flex, caressed with a poetic social panorama”. African-influenced percussion, post-punk dream-wishes and infamous ‘Death Parties’ lend vibes to the band’s live performance, each show initiated with a ritualistic prayer via mobile phone and courtesy of their Shaman housemate. With a charm and style that embraces modern insecurities with an ‘end of the rainbow’ mentality their influences vary from Trad African & tribal Kalimba songs to post-punk ‘Industrial' with a nod to boozy Britpop soirees and Welsh Psych. This is a lighthearted and raucous approach to social commentary fully endorsed with cryptic rhymes and narratives of cultural indecency.
