** OFF THE BEATEN TRACK TOUR LAUNCHES IN NOVEMBER! **
** TIBETAN NIGHT TERRORS + TUNDRA + RUBBER JAW + GOLDBLUME COME OUT TO PLAY SHOWS ACROSS THE EAST! **

Good news, local music lovers! A brand new gigging venture is launching in the far East of England. Four admirably fresh alt.rock acts – Tibetan Night Terrors + Tundra + Rubber Jaw + Goldblume –are crashlanding into four key live venues across the region in November under the banner of Off The Beaten Track and with the support of Arts Council England.

If the name gently mocks public mis-conception of the region's fertile live music scene then the tour idea is sensationally simple: Off The Beaten Track is a mini-tour across the four counties of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex with each county providing one fine venue and one favoured local act. The bands are all up-and-coming and quite possibly pillars of their sonic community. The bills will rotate through the mini-tour, with each band headlining their own local venue and sharing support slots on the other shows.

And so it is that for the inaugural Off The Beaten Track tour in November 2019 Tibetan Night Terrors are the folk from Norfolk, Tundra represent Suffolk, Rubber Jaw bring joy to Essex and Goldblume shine on in Cambridgeshire. To wrap the whole venture up there will be a special bonus show at the Old Blue Last in Shoreditch – the closest London venue to Liverpool Street train station, gateway to the East. The confirmed dates look like this:

THE PERFORMERS:

GOLDBLUME
‘A three piece full of character and charisma (from Cambridge). Combining math-rock, grunge, punk and alternative rock in a unique and ever-evolving manner; their live performances are as captivating and punchy as their back catalogue.’ Ellen Ellard (BBC Introducing Cambridge)
www.goldblume.co.uk

TUNDRA
Surf punk trio Tundra burst on to the bustling Bury St Edmunds Suffolk scene in 2016 and since then have been on a non-stop mission of infectious grunge-pop domination. For those who want a bit of punky, surfy, crashing around the stage.

RUBBER JAW
A threepiece from Elmstead Market in Essex, Rubber Jaw once wisely claimed to exist “on the fringes of Art Rock / Indie / Alternative; in the centre of that Venn diagram.” Their claim to leftfield fame – and it’s a doozy – is that Alan McGee handpicked them to kickstart his Creation23 label venture.

TIBETAN NIGHT TERRORS
Loping in from the lanes of Norwich, Tibetan Night Terrors deliver moreishly tropical disco grooves via people called Ben, Caitlin, Matthew, Owen and Marco. Their sound is the same as their ethos - upbeat, chirpy, stompy, constant - and always getting quirkier.

Recent regional success stories such as Let's Eat Grandma from Norwich, Lonely The Brave from the lonely Fens, Chelmsford’s Ratboy and of course some bloke called Edward from Framlingham prove that there is a splendidly wide range of talent from the bottom to the top end of the M11 and beyond the back of beyond just waiting to be nourished and encouraged.

A second Off The Beaten Track tour has already been confirmed for April 2020 with four new acts playing four shows at four alternative venues across the four different counties. More details soon…
