THE CARESS are an alternative three piece combo based in New Cross and comprised of brothers Tom, Ben and Sam. Their music is visceral and melodic, with a quintessentially British charm which draws mainly on influences such as Phil Spector’s Wall Of Sound, ‘60s girl bands and ‘80s indie acts. Lyrically they try to find the beauty and intrigue in the mundane and grey, through stories of youth, sex, naivety and loneliness, as evinced by the sighs and lows of their brand new ‘You Say I Kiss Like A Girl’ EP, released on fierce panda on September 15th. www.facebook.com/thecaress

485C are five roustabouts from eastern Londonshire who know that home is where the art is. For theirs is a bruising blend of rowdy guitars and intellectual airs, moderately akin to The Strokes stroking The Family Cat. Their third panda single ‘Better The Man’ / ‘Oh Rhianna’ is out now. www.facebook.com/485Cband

HUSSY is a grrrl-fronted labour of lovingness from southeast London. “Where grunge and dreams collide” is their tagline, so expect heaps of chaotic Hole-y aggro with a dose of slyly melodic sonic youthfulness. www.facebook.com/HUSSYuk

HAZEY is a lo-fi bedroom recording project by one James Hazell producing drowsy slacker vibes peering into the psychpop abyss inhabited by Kurt Vile and The Incredible String Band. www.facebook.com/hazeybrighton
