* DESPERATE JOURNALIST LAUNCH ‘DESPERATE JOURNALIST’ AT THE LEXINGTON! *
* FEARSOMELY CRUNCHY SUPPORT COMES FROM TERMINAL GODS + DRESSMAKER! *

Noirish North London quartet DESPERATE JOURNALIST play their biggest show to date at The Lexington in London Town on Thursday January 22nd to introduce the world to their succintly-named 'Desperate Journalist' debut album, out four days later. Happily this show represents some kind of homecoming as the first time fierce panda was pole-axed by Desperate Journalist’s poise was in this very venue supporting Six By Seven in the summer of 2013. Two EPs, two singles and a multitude of terrific underground shows later and Desperate Journalist are back back back to headline this night of rampantly dark / darkly rampant melodies...

DESPERATE JOURNALIST (onstage 10.00pm) are two boys and two girls from far and wide who make 12-string guitar-powered darkpop which sparkles in the shadows. Fronted up by the heroic near-howlings of Jo Bevan, theirs is a world of angsty words, angry outbursts and gently malevolent melodic sideswipes. The imminent 'Control' single comes out on January 19th with the 'Desperate Journalist' album arriving on compact disc and vinyl on fierce panda on January 26th. www.facebook.com/desperatejournalist

TERMINAL GODS (onstage 9.00pm) are exponents of cool sunglasses after dark, drum machine ricochets and thoroughly doomed vocals, as you can possibly tell from the Classic Rock review which said "Imagine a world in which Andrew Eldritch kept his hair and his leather jacket, and instead of doing crossword puzzles for the last decade, he spent his time cracking skulls in biker bars." Quite. www.facebook.com/terminalgods

DRESSMAKER (onstage 8.15pm) The name Dressmaker tends to be be accompanied by words like 'brutal', 'raging', 'howling' and 'sonically ruthless'. Jesus & Mary Chain-sawing their way through London's circuit they released the 'Glass' EP late last year, which caused drownedinsound to enthuse: "(Dressmaker) combine darkwave sensibilities employed by the likes of Bauhaus with a propensity for all out noise." www.facebook.com/dressmakerlondon
