Wojtek Godzisz To Headline Pandamonium Day 4 On 13 Jan
8th January 2015
Artist Profile »

Oh my rampant puddings it's...Day Four of PANDAMONIUM '15!!!
Wojtek Godzisz fills the void at the Shacklewell Arms on January 13th!!!
Shinily melancholic support comes from Seazoo + Skies!!!

It's become as traditional as regretful cardigans, revengeful relatives and the general sad-faced stout-bellied post-Christmas fudge. Never fear, Pandamonium '15 is soon here, with fierce panda records and Club Fandango and Disorder Promotions and some cheeky friends uniting forces to shine some light on the New Year gigging scene, as they have been doing since making some calendar space in 1999.
The venues are small and cool. The bands are cool and small. The nights are young, the mood is mellow and there is music in our ears. Day 4 of Pandamonium ’15 is a night of maverick pop instincts and leftfield lovings, headed up by Wojtek Godzisz with able support from Welsh wonders Seazoo and folks from Folkestone Skies, like this…

WOJTEK GODZISZ (onstage 10.15pm) Any act who lists “galactic speculation, baronic heraldry and dragon baiting’ as band interests is surely worth your attention. And onetime Symposium indierock slammer Wojtek Godzisz is one such act. A veritable Club Fandango stalwart – he has been playing shows with us since 2007 – Wojtek Godzisz has released the ‘Wojtek Godzisz’ album on Tigertrap Records and makes beefily bearded alt.pop music laced with gentle weirdness. This is Wojtek’s first live show for nine whole months, and is a warm-up for the Wassail Festival in East Sussex on January 17th.

SEAZOO (onstage 9.30pm) are a Welsh bedroom pop group which for a while consisted of two humans and a charity shop teddy bear gently influenced by Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, Yo La Tengo and Pavement. They now consist of five proper humans – the teddy often stays at home, jaded by his short experience in the industry – but the music is still a lovely nonchalant blend of leftfield American sensibilities and wonky homegrown values, as evinced by imminent Label Fandango single ‘Panda Pains’ (released on January 19th).

SKIES (onstage 8.45pm) are an indie / synthpop alternative band from Folkestone in Kent fronted up by core members Alie and Jericho. They peddle shinily melancholic pop tunes with addictive melodies, strong lyrics and a big, big sound, as evinced by terrific recent debut single ‘Doors’ and imminent release ‘Breed’.
