Club Fandango and our chums fierce panda and Tigertrap Records take over the Ocean Rooms at this year's Great Escape festival in Brighton. You can find us there on May 17th with The Moths, Land Of Talk, Make Good Your Escape and Look See Proof. For the second in a currently irregular series of 'features', we fired off some questions to the latter.

Hello Look See Proof. Who are you and what are you wearing?
I'm David and I'm wearing black jeans with black plimpsoles and a Dykeenies t-shirt! Wordddd!

What can The Kids expect from the Look See Proof experience at Club Fandango/Great Escape?
Well being our first Great Escape there is going to be plenty of energy and we are going to inject some indie pop into people's veins! Should be good!

Would you say your influences are mainly from the distant past or the present and who/what inspired you to start a band in the first place?
I guess as a whole The Futureheads were a massive influence on us collectively seen as though we were all into them at the time of starting but I think all of our influences can be heard in our songs! We have never set out to sound like anybody, but just to write songs that we like and that's it. We all loved music and playing it so we formed all of our forces, a bit like a Power Ranger Daddybot!

What sort of qualities would shape your ideal band?
Errrm... first off would be a very good front man. Our friends The Runners have one of the most charismatic front men I've seen in a while in Gus Cox, and I guess in our opinion being best friends makes up 90% of our band so without a bond as a group of people, not just musicians, it would be far more difficult!

What future releases do you have planned?
Well we have just recorded our next single which doesn't have a label... we are recording another track in a couple of weeks so keep your ears peeled!

What is the best thing about being in a band, and what is the worst?
Undoubtedly the best thing is playing to people who love your music! And recording is so much fun too for us, and just in general seeing different places (albeit not that many at the moment) and of course getting into certain gigs for free! ;) But the worst thing is breaking down! We have been struck down 3 times in 3 weeks! NOTTTTT GOOOOD! But overall the band is the best thing in the world. It's like anything - there are ups and downs, so yeah...!

What would you do if you were in a club or record shop and one of your songs was played? Has this happened before?
Errrm we've been somewhere and it's happened and in all honesty I was a bit embarrassed but i don't know why because I'm no celebrity and I'm pretty sure nobody in the shop knew who the fuck we were, haha! But it does make us proud!

What is your favourite pub?
We have Russ our producer to thank for this gold mine - it's a pub in Islington/Highbury but I can't remember its name. We have been there so many times when we've been to Russ' place too. The people are friendly and they sell Czech beer, which is nice! I'll let you what the name is when I find out!

What is your greatest strength?
As a band I think our strength is our live performance, as in the energy and punchiness of it! Personally my strength is being the world's strongest man!

Tell us a really extremely funny joke.
This joke is good! A horse walks into a bar - the barman says why the long face???? Good no??
