NATIONAL SERVICE (onstage 9.15pm) In spite of being barely a handful of gigs old from their top secret rehearsal cupboard (in Fortress Studios, Old Street) National Service create tense, tersely modern alt.rock nuggets which nod at the buoyancy of Wild Beasts and the restlessness of Radiohead while bursting into manic sonic life at the most unexpected moments. A Little More Time' encapsulates that driving belligerence perfectly, revelling in the quartet's honest vocals, dense harmonies and brooding hypnotic grooves.

OH SISTER (onstage 8.30pm) Beginning with minimal electronica Sarah Berresford, better known as Oh Sister, writes moody torch songs then, she and her friends add synth, drums and dreamy harmonies.

FLOOD FOR THE FAMINE (onstage 7.45pm) is ostensibly one Alex Lindner, a songwriter / producer who writes songs and makes patterns in the air.
