The Traps hail from Birmingham, they consist of brothers Jamie Berry (Vocals/Guitar) and Nick Berry (Bass/Vocals), James Minhas (Guitar) and Daniel Webb (Drums) and have done since 2011. The two singles taken from the bands debut album Calypso entitled The Honey Drip and Calypso present glorious alt-pop and garnered attention from the likes of Q Magazine as well as receiving much sought-after plays from John Kennedy (XFM), Chris Hawkins (BBC Radio 6 Music) and Janice Long (BBC Radio 2). Their rapidly expanding fan-base meant that the ‘Calypso’ launch parties in Birmingham and London both sold out, impressive for a band who released the album in determined DIY fashion.
This was followed by their first single release on Label Fandango / Fierce Panda, double A-Side release Imposter / My Grip which was supported by a sell out show at one of London's finest venues The Lexington. “the Traps are set to capture more followers into their world of happily dark music.” - London In Stereo
