It's spring, there is a hint of sun and unusually for us it's the first Tuesday of the month not the second, but fear not as fierce panda records and Disorder promotions bring you the same thrilling indie pop joys to The Shacklewell Arms in order to entertain the music loving public. June's line up is packed full of the finest new bands and it looks a bit like this:

DRACULA LEGS (onstage at 10pm) have only played a couple of gigs but their single 'Heartburn Destination' has the backing of 6music, John Kennedy, the NME - and us! This is a chance to see an amazing new band who play Nick Cave influenced devilish alt. country. Their set at The Great Escape in May was ranked as the 10th best gig of the festival by NME Magazine. DRESSMAKER (onstage 9.15pm) project a dark and captivating noise. Hailng from London they sound like Joy Division hurlting through a wind tunnel of razor blades. The NME describe them as "fuzz that scratches so deep it would make the Jesus & Mary Chain whimper", now that takes some doing. TILAPIA (onstage 8.30pm) are four youths from South London who make a ramshackle guitar-bending racket with imagination and vigour a'plenty: their 'Jaguar' song may only last 3 minutes and 6 seconds but it contains roughly 36 different melodies in that short, sweet time.
