Artist Profile »

Tomorrow at Fandango (Tuesday) is your last chance to catch Yeasayer in the UK before they whisked back off to America Land for a while. Some press which has been whooshing their way recently:

'Their peers in all this would be the likes of TV On the Radio or the sublime Akron/Family... while the singing suggests a heady new strain of psychedelic soul, the music bases itself in plangent, kaleidoscopic art rock, but spreads out into radio-hit pop and even a few tilts at world music. One minute you hear echoes of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer, the next a kind of peyote-fuelled, space-bound folk.' - The Guardian

'Don‚Äö?Ñ?¥t go using the words ‚Äö?Ñ??guilty‚Äö?Ñ?¥ and ‚Äö?Ñ??pleasure‚Äö?Ñ?¥ in the company of Brooklyn-based quartet Yeasayer... Yeasayer are a perfectly paradoxical collective: on this hand their music is accessibly mainstream, on t‚Äö?Ñ?¥other they‚Äö?Ñ?¥re so dead-centre spot-on with their tips of hats and nods of heads to something borrowed that they‚Äö?Ñ?¥re resolutely out there.' - DiS

Yeasayer are on stage at 9.30pm, finely sandwiched between Grammatics and Kunta Kinte. A Good Night.
