Bambooooozled is the Bull & Gate hoedown presented by those wild-eyed dreamers at fierce panda records which now takes place on the very first Wednesday of each and every month. If you're extremely lucky those wild-eyed dreamers may remember to bring along the tub of chocolate filled panda biscuits this time around.
JUST HANDSHAKES (WE'RE BRITISH) (onstage 10.00pm) are from Leeds and play the sort of charming old school girl-fronted indie pop music which nods at Liz Cocteau and Let's Buy Happiness while earning them respect from nice radio people like Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and Marc Riley and support slots with nice bands such as Mystery Jets, Still Corners and Pete & The Pirates. They have just finished recording their debut album with Matt Peel (The Crookes) and, happily, they list their interests as "Gin, Sweden and Taxidermy".

HOWE (onstage 9.15pm) are from Brighton and have recently released their 'Bolt From The Blue' EP, which is a bit slammy and a bit glammy with a whiff of the '60s here and the '70s there and a soupcon of The Cardiacs elsewhere. Or, in other words, "It is intelligently written music with a thick layer of soul and a bucketload of social awareness."

THE VEX (onstage 8.30pm) are last minute additions to the bill, coming straight to us from helping launch Chris McCormack's brand new White Noise club night in Hoxton on September 29th. Unsurprising really, when you consider their cheery online slogan states that 'The Vex are here to play loud, fast and often'. Think raggedy Libertines-fuelled rock'n'roll froth with tight jackets and even tighter haircuts.
