Scanners And Dingus Khan Announced As Support For Ultrasound @ Scala
20th September 2012
Artist Profile »

Support for the Ultrasound gig at Scala on 4th October will come from Scanners and Dingus Khan

Scanners recorded their first album 'Violence is Golden' themselves and was released in the States on the Dim Mak label (Bloc Party, Gossip, The Kills). They went down a storm at SXSW in Texas which led to them being asked to play on NBC's The Carson Daly Show. They worked on their second album 'Submarine' with Stephen Hague (Blur, Pet Shop Boys), released in the UK, March 2011. The band are currently in the studio recording their 3rd album.

Dingus Khan are eight characters from Manningtree in Essex. They feature three drummers, three bass players and sometimes one baseball bat hitting a beer keg. With whistling. And choreography. Sounds fun enough already, but when they throw out a bucket-load of dementedly catchy tunes wrapped up in a turbocharged blast of prog-punk guitars you’ll find yourself offering them a single deal on the spot. Which is exactly what Label Fandango did! 'Knifey Spoony’ came out in March and now 'Made A List' which came out in July through Fierce Panda.
