FORTUNA POP! PRESENTS WITHERED HAND with support from OWL & MOUSE + more VENUE: THE BULL & GATE
DATE: SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 22ND

WITHERED HAND (aka Dan Willson) has been lauded by Rolling Stone, MOJO and Jarvis Cocker and is a member of Scotland’s infamous Fence Collective. His brilliant debut album, 'Good News', continues to win fans and crop up in unlikely places (Skins, MTV), while this year’s 'Heart Heart EP' further showcased Willson’s knack for glorious, wry, ravaged alt-rock. Dan has toured widely both solo and with his band since 2009, both in UK and mainland Europe and USA.

WITHERED HAND is performing a few rare UK dates as a band to promote the release of a new limited edition 10inch vinyl EP entitled Inbetweens before heading out to Europe in October. He will also perform songs from an as yet untitled second album.

'Artist to Watch' (Rolling Stone)

"Sometimes it takes one spellbinding live performance before an artist’s seemingly obvious-to-everyone-else talent really sinks in. I’ve always appreciated Dan Willson’s songcraft in a rather passive way, but I walked away from this Withered Hand solo show a fully subscribed fan - and I wasn’t the only one." (The Scotsman)

"Beautifully constructed lyrical frameworks" (MOJO)

OWL & MOUSE was born as the solo project of Australian singer-songwriter Hannah. After moving to London in 2008, Hannah taught herself to play the ukulele, and began writing vulnerable yet open-hearted folk-tinged songs, inspired by her friends, family and homes across the world.

In early 2011, Hannah released her first solo EP on Haircut Records. A short while later, she began to form a more permanent, pop-oriented backing band, and now performs with Jen on backing vocals, Tom on bass, and Emma on keyboards. Owl & Mouse’s first single, ‘Canvas Bags’, comes out on Hangover Lounge Records in August 2012.
