FUNERAL SUITS - 10.15PM
www.facebook.com/FuneralSuits
A four-piece from Ireland consisting of Brian James, Mik McKeogh, Greg McCarthy and Dar Grant. The music they make is expansive without being overblown, heavy without being menacing and all the more thrilling for its restraint.

A shared love of epic, distorted guitars, blistering harmonius pop, art rock and electronica led to the band spending the best part of two years holed up in a disused office space in deepest North County Dublin, writing, rehearsing and at times venturing out to play as special guests for Franz Ferdinand, Passion Pit, The Maccabees, Local Natives amongst others.

FUNERAL SUITS recorded and finished their debut album with acclaimed producer Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths) which was released Spring 2012.

‘Health’ is the bands current single and March 5th 2012 sees the band release their third single 'All Those Friendly People'

CAVE BIRDS - 09.30PM

"Caves. Natural habitats for reclusive behaviour. Rare species. Secret projects. Night visionaries.

When I think of Cave Birds and the series of noir-pop songs that have surreptitiously leaked out of Leeds over the past few months under that name, I think of the great anti-social artisans of songwriting; Syd Barrett, Talk Talk, Kate Bush... Not just the songs, but every detail of the production,... like Brian Wilson with the all the sunshine and pastoralism sucked out and a vile of danger injected.

And then you hear Some Lightning Thrill, a tale of devastating love. Is it a far reaching call-to-arms or a deep echoing cry for help? All I know is it’s a big song, bursting with pain and passion, not something you can stash under the floorboards. Sometimes secrets need to be shared." (Leagues O' Toole, Foggy Notions)
