Battle last headlined for Club Fandango and 6 Music back in December 2005. Now they're the first band to return for a 6 Music shindig, which just so happens to be on May 31st at the Borderline.

Battle peddle a melody-lashed contempo-retro sound that belies some deliciously crafty experimental edges. Their debut single was released by our chums fierce panda and since then the band signed to Transgressive and released their debut (mini) album and another string of singles, as you do, taking in high-profile support slots with New Order and Bloc Party among others. Indeed, Russell Bloc Party has been spied on occasions guitar tech-ing for the band. What a nice man!
