THE RAMSHACKLE UNION BAND - 10.20PM
www.myspace.com/theramshackleunionband
This London band peddle a fine line in stomping bluegrass-tinged-folk, playing with big heart and a free-spirited ethos. Heralded by NME as “woozy bluegrass for weary hearts and bleeding minds”, their sound is in debt to classic roots music, while feeling vital and fresh. Based around rich four-part harmonies, with raucous, tumbling rhythms and equal penchant for loverlorn heartbreak and giddy good times, they're fast rising as one of the most talked-about new folk bands around. Hard at work recording material for their new EP, and with a jam-packed gigging calendar, their wagon looks set only to accelerate further in 2011.

RACE HORSES - 09.30PM

Race Horses are a more-than-esteemed support with their fizzy Welsh pop ensuring their last London show was a sell-out affair at The Lexington. After being picked by Steve Lamacq to play at his Going Deaf For A Living night at the Bull & Gate last month, this special slot sees another airing of their heartily welcomed self-released 'Goodbye Falkenburg' album and sets the band up for further super furry fun in 2011 (formerly known as Radio Luxembourg) are a Welsh psychedelic pop group who formed in Aberystwyth, Wales in 2005. "Benidorm" was A Line of Best Fit's track of the day and NME named it as 1/10 of it's '10 tracks you have to hear this week'.

"“Benidorm” is a rollicking new track from bilingual Welsh pop-rockers Race Horses, whose excellent debut LP, Goodbye Falkenburg, dropped last year by way of Fantastic Plastic. Check it out." - Pitchfork

BEING THERE - 08.45PM

Being There produce fresh sounding, lo-fi pop by combining the sounds of Teenage Fanclub and The Vaselines with the astute, yet youthful lyricism of Belle and Sebastian and Silver Jews; they were picked up for their debut by Richard Formby, a producer internationally acclaimed for his work on the Mercury Nominated record 'Two Dancers' by Wild Beasts. Being There are now are set to become the genuine British answer to the recent wave of American indie bands.
