Beg, Steal And Burrow - White Rabbits Bound Into Town

AND MORE PUNS.

NYC's newest and shiniest exports White Rabbits are to play a Club Fandango show at London Borderline on Tuesday April 29th. The gig is a co-promotion with BBC 6 Music and stands as the band's only date in the capital as they head over the Atlantic to promote the UK release of their 'Fort Nightly' album, out now on fierce panda.

The Brooklyn-based sextet consist of Greg Roberts (guitar / vox), Steve Patterson (piano / vox), Alex Even (guitar / vox), Adam Russell (bass), Matt 'The Duck' Clark (drums) and Jamie Levinson (drums). Together they form a veritable 12-legged groove machine gunning its way through the history of pop and swapping instruments whenever the bloomin' mood takes it. And yes, they have two drummers.

'Fort Nightly' is their debut album and proves that, alongside cheery contemporaries Vampire Weekend and Harlem Shakes, White Rabbits represent a more intelligent new wave from New York. Frequently mischievous, mysterious and marvellous in a groovy upbeat sort of way, they sound a little bit like 10cc, Cold War Kids, Bow Wow Wow and The Specials (although not at the same time) and a whole lot like they are throwing a big house party which isn't actually bobbins or going to end in a punch-up at 3.00am.

Support at the Borderline gig comes from Teenagersintokyo and Christiansilva. Should be a blast...
