Foxy Shazam
Foxy Shazam are a ‘red hot, piano-driven, toe-tapping "rock 'n soul" sextet’ from Cincinnati, Ohio who name check Marvin Gaye, Elton John and ‘Born To Run’-era Bruce and who – rather splendidly – have a singer called Eric who says things like “Nothing is cool until it’s made cool.” And considering FOXY SHAZAM are jetting in to the UK to play this Club Panda bashette and support Hole at an NME gig, he knows what he’s talking about. Throw in a record deal with Sire and an exuberant live show honed and toned by years touring the highways of the USA and we’ve got ourselves one pop-tastic hoedown.
